What is Lawyer

Build your case on the record.

Lawyer is a legal AI platform built for Indian law firms. Ask questions of your case documents, check every answer against the source, and draft documents grounded in the facts of the matter and the current law.

Cases

  • Every matter gets its own case file, holding its documents and discussion threads
  • Search stays inside the matter, so nothing leaks between clients
  • Upload PDF and Word files, typed or scanned
  • A separate Reference Library for the firm’s precedents and templates

Research

  • Ask questions about your case documents in plain language
  • Every answer cites the file and page, one click from the source document
  • Answers say whether they come from your documents, from statute, or from no source at all
  • Falls back to the Bare Acts when your documents don’t cover the question

Drafting

  • Generates a first draft from the case materials, with every fact cited
  • Missing information is marked in red; anything that needs review is marked in yellow
  • Laws or cases not found in the sources are flagged “Verify”
  • Edit in place and export to Word, with citations as footnotes
  • Revert to the original draft at any time

Statute mapping

Tracks India’s 2024 criminal law overhaul: IPC → BNS and CrPC → BNSS.

  • 1,343 section mappings between the old and new codes
  • 847 Central Acts covering 35,401 sections

Languages

  • English and all 22 scheduled Indian languages
  • Reads scanned and handwritten documents
  • Ask in one language, find answers in another, e.g. ask in English, answer from a Hindi document
  • Understands Hinglish

For the whole firm

  • Multi-user workspace with Owner, Admin, and Member roles
  • Chamber analytics: daily activity, feature usage, and member engagement
  • Coming soon: Junior (task delegation), Workflows, and case law integration

Principles

  1. Shows its work: every answer points back to a source
  2. Admits what it doesn’t know: blanks, not guesses
  3. Keeps each matter confidential
  4. Leaves the judgement to the lawyer

Not a substitute for a lawyer’s judgement: every answer is there to be checked.
